Signs of Fall

We have been reading and talking about signs of fall.  Then we went on a leaf hunt!

Students learned how to STOP, DROP and ROLL for fire safety and had the chance to go inside a fire truck.

We also gave a big THANK YOU to our law enforcement officers!

I Like Myself

After we read the book I Like Myself, we talked about how God made each of us unique and focused on facial features.  Students looked in a mirror and stated something they liked about themselves.

Next, students had to make their face with materials they were given and draw a picture of what their face looked like.  They turned out great!

Apples

Students learned all about apples!

We read 10 Apples On Top, non-fiction books about apples and learned about the life cycle of an apple.  We also read The Story Of An Apple Star and cut an apple open to see the star.

Students completed a sink or float experiment.  They made a prediction if an apple would sink or float, then recorded the result.  We also checked to see if the parts of an apple would sink or float.

After learning all about the parts of an apple, we made and tasted applesauce!

Students tasted a red, green and yellow apple.  After they tried all three colors, we made a class graph of which apple they liked best.
